AISS/HCSO Assistant Deputy Superintendent
Madeline Fernandez is currently the Assistant Deputy Superintendent for the All Inclusive Support Services Program (AISS), a division of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) which provides quality comprehensive support to individuals transitioning from incarceration back to the community as well as to local community members seeking support. AISS aims to provide access to individualized services, enhance community partnerships, and improve community safety and well-being.
Madeline has been employed by the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office for 22 years. Her service includes working for the Day Reporting Center as a First Community Control Officer for eleven years. The DRC program was a specialized program within the HCSO where participants were able to reside at home, work in the community, and attend community groups/programs while still under the supervision of the HCSO.
Madeline transitioned to AISS in 2012 as a case manager primarily working with men with a sex offense history, engaging with them prior to their release towards a smooth transition from incarceration back into the community.
Madeline then was appointed as a Program Supervisor and later Program Manager at AISS where she supervised case managers and assisted them with professional development and serving their caseloads for approximately three years.
In her current role as Assistant Deputy Superintendent, she is taking on all the vital administrative responsibilities of the AISS Program. In her position as ADS, Madeline has coordinated various presentations for staff development and building strong relationships within the community.
Madeline has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Westfield State University, Westfield, MA.
