A retired deputy chief with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), Brian understands the complex challenges associated with managing and operating today's detention facilities. Brian served with MCSO for more than 23 years working in and managing one of the county's largest county jail systems. As a deputy chief, he served as Chairman of the Maricopa County Smart Justice Council (criminal justice system coordinating council) consisting of multiple departments within the Maricopa County criminal justice system. The council received several awards and recognition for their work in reducing recidivism, increasing collaboration and awareness of justice involved individuals experiencing mental health conditions, and justice system planning in general.
Now serving as Vice President of Planning at CGL Companies, Brian is devoted to traveling to criminal justice systems throughout the country and assisting agencies in the planning, design, and activation/transition of new facilities to include jails, prisons, and court buildings. Brian holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), is a Certified Public Manager (CPM) through Arizona State University, and previously held certifications through the Americam Jail Association as a Certified Jail Manager (CJM) and the American Correctional Association as a Certified Correctional Executive (CCE).
