Robert (Ben) Shelor

Robert B. (Ben) Shelor is a member of BJA’s Corrections, Reentry, and Justice Reform team. Prior to joining BJA, Ben worked on myriad BJA-funded programs at The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center, a national nonprofit organization aimed at helping state and local leaders adopt data-driven solutions to address pressing criminal justice challenges. From 2011-2015, Ben served as the Deputy Director for Standards and Accreditation for the American Correctional Association (ACA), administering ACA compliance audits for correctional facilities and agencies across the United States. Ben is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, and now lives with his wife, Erin, in Washington, DC.
