Lead Counselor Julie Mardner, Hampden County Sheriff’s Office
Julie Mardner has been with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office since 2015, presently serving as a Lead Counselor in Davis Tower with pre-trial detainees at the Main Institution in Ludlow, Mass.
She is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and recently earned her CADAC certification for substance abuse with the Black Addiction Counselor Education Program.
Julie attended Southern New Hampshire University, Springfield
Technical Community College and the University of Phoenix, where she focused on Human Service. Her position as a Lead Counselor has helped her to enhance her interpersonal and communication skills while focusing on being an active listener with an empathetic ear.
Before coming to the Sheriff’s Office, she worked for the Center for Human Development (CHD) in Holyoke, Mass. for a decade, assisting clients with co-occurring disorders. She also worked with the courts as a Probate Coordinator.
Julie has taken an interest in Mindfulness and Meditation and Communications. Julie currently has her own personal meditation business called a Journey into Inner Peace and continues to provide support to her peers and the annual Women in Criminal Justice conference.
Julie is a native New Yorker and she also enjoys fitness, reading, dancing and teaching and inspiring others to help them see their worth.
